A 37-year-old man woke on his settee to find two intruders in his house.
The men had sneaked through unlocked patio doors to get into the house in Newland Drive, Over Hulton, at 1.30am on Wednesday.
The man tried to kick one of the burglars and they ran off with a PlayStation and other video games.
One man was described as white, 5ft 10ins, with a stocky build and wearing a black hooded top.
