Two men appeared before Blackpool Magistrates on Thursday in connection with the murder of missing teenager, Charlene Downes.
Iyad Albattikhi, 28, of Dickson Road in the resort is charged with murder and Mohammed Raveshi, 49, of Hornby Road, is charged with assisting an offender. Both were remanded in custody after the hearing and will appear in court at a later date.
A third man questioned over the murder has been released on police bail.
The three were arrested following early morning raids at addresses in Blackpool and Fleetwood on Tuesday.
Charlene, 14, from Buchanan Street, Blackpool and a pupil at St George's CE High School, disappeared after visiting a Blackpool bar in November 2003. Her disappearance sparked one of the longest running missing persons investigations in Lancashire Constabulary's history.
Forensic teams have also also been carrying out detailed searches of two premises in the resort since the arrests - one at an address on Hornby Road and the other at the Funny Boyz takeaway, Dickson Road.
