Book saga has lasted three years

A BOLTON publisher has reassured subscribers that they will receive the book they ordered - even though it is still not finished after more than three years. Mr Alan White, 38, who runs the Aural Images publishing company based at Astley Bridge, invited contributions for a new poetry anthology, "One World: People and Planet in Harmony", in 1996. Many people have sent work for consideration. And about 150 people from all over the country have ordered the book in advance at the pre-publication price of £11.99. But some subscribers who sent in work and pre-payment for the book have complained to the BEN that they received neither the book nor a satisfactory explanation for the delay.  more...

We visit every week for our lunch on our shopping trips to town and have done so since it first opened there. Everyone is friendly, the staff is super, including Tasos and his mother. The place is spotless and you know that your meal will be served to your satisfaction with a pleasant word from a smiling waitress, and, as you leave, you know you'll return again and again.  more...
